Admissions Policy – Whitchurch
The condition of our registration with the Care Standards and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales(CSSIW) and our overriding policy in respect of admissions is as follows “The maximum number of children (ages):42 children aged 6months to 5 years old with no more children aged 6months to 2 years”.
Admissions Policy – Canton
Si-lwli Nursery is registered with the Care Standards and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales, for 16 children aged between 2yr-5yrs, this is our overriding policy in respect of admissions.
Children are admitted to Si-lwli according to the parents/carers requirements and availability of places. We operate a totally non-discriminatory policy in respect of all children on the grounds of sex, religion, colour, creed or language. In an event of high volumes of interest Si-lwli will adhere to the following procedure when allocating sessions:
__We offer a first come first serve policy according to our waiting list.
__Children who are siblings of those already with us will have preference.
__Full time places will be prioritised.
__Sessions offered to parents will be declined if deposit aren’t received within the specified time given.
Payment Policy
1. Upon registration a £25 non-refundable administration fee will be charged. A letter of confirmation will be sent as soon as the requested days become available. Parents will need to confirm their acceptance in writing or by e-mail, which should include one week’s fees as a deposit. The deposit will be refunded upon a months notice being given by a credit in the final invoice.
2. Our fees reflect the cost of providing a premium quality service which includes a two-course meal, healthy snacks, Formula Milk, numerous drinks, and subsidized trips. Our fees are reviewed annually in April and we will notify parents in writing if there is any changes in our rate.
3. Bills will be distributed during the last week of the month. Fees can be paid by cheque made payable to “Si-lwli”, cash, standing order or with childcare vouchers. Payment must be made by the date specified in the invoice. Failure to make payment by the specified date will result in a 10% surcharge, which will be added to the subsequent invoice. In the event of payment not being made in accordance with the invoice, we reserve the right to decline our service. In addition to the surcharge referred to above if the account remains outstanding after a period of 28 days, interest will be added to the sum that remains outstanding at the rate of 8% per annum.
4. If you wish to pay by standing order your fees will be calculated on a calendar month basis (calculated over 51 weeks) and due by the first day of each month. Please contact the manager to arrange details.
5. Fees will be incurred for every day your child is booked into Si-lwli, including non-attendance. A request for a waiver of fees is purely at our discretion.
6. Fees will be charged as normal over the bank holiday period but no fees will be levied during the Christmas and New Year Period.
7. We are registered with the Local Education Authority to provide 3-4 year old children with two and a half hour of free education. The funding can only be used in conjunction with a half or full day session. The funding will be deducted from the monthly invoice.
Confidentiality
It is our legal requirement to hold information about the children in our care and the staff. The information collected is logged on to a secure computer and a management software package is used to compile accurate documents such as the registers, invoices and a list of emergency contact numbers. Si-lwli is registered under the Data Protection Act and a copy of the certificate is displayed in the reception area. All written documents and records will be stored in a locked cabinet.
Due to the nature of our work staff learn a great deal about families that use Si-lwli, in order to provide a high quality individual care. All staff is aware that this information is confidential and only for the use within Si-lwlis setting. If any information, pictures or films of children is requested for whatever reason, the parent’s permission will be sought. If, however, a child is considered at risk our Child Protection Policy will override confidentiality.
